Jesse Snyder directs the horns in the Hawaiian swing band Kahulanui, and created many of their horn arrangements. Kahulanui was nominated for three 2013 Hoku Awards as well as a 2014 Grammy Award – and they have just released a new album! Jesse can also be found playing at Manta in the Mauna Kea Hotel and other places with Peak, Bump City, the Slippersons  and the the Castaways (aka Ricardo & Friends).

Richard Russell, a..k.a. Ricardo, is a music producer who has released ten albums of mostly original material – including a new album called "Ricardo & Friends – LIVE AT THE CHURCH" recorded in Seattle in mid-2017. This group, locally called the Castaways, performs in Kohala now and then. in 2016 he produced the Slippersons "Boundaries" album, which was nominated for a 2017 NaHoku Award for Jazz Album of the Year! He also produced the 2015 Red Water Trio album entitled "The Jazz Angle." Besides creating music in Kohala, Richard periodically produces benefit concerts in the Pacific Northwest under the umbrella Seattle Secret Music.

Bassist Brian McCree was a pillar of the Boston music scene for decades, performing with Bobby Hebb, Alan Dawson, Jackie Byard, Pharoah Sanders and a long list of others. In 2003, he moved to the Big Island of Hawaii, where he's played with many people including
